Daisy and BEE Awards
Special Event Running All Year
Are partner recognition programs in healthcare that honor staff for exceptional, compassionate care. The DAISY award recognizes nurses, while the BEE (Being Exceptional Everyday) Award honors nursing support staff and non—nursing team members. Both awards celebrate staff who demonstrate excellence in their roles.
Colorado River Quilters is sponsoring these awards at Valley View Regional Medical Center. We anticipate our needs to be 8 laptop quilts for the DAISY awards and 8 laptop quilts for the BEE awards. You can use bees and daisy fabrics, quilts with appliques or embroidery.

Quilt As You Go

Melinda wants to offer the opportunity to finish the workshop we started in April (She's feeling guilty). If you are interested and available, she will finalize the "Quilt As You Go" workshop on Thursday, July 23, from 9 to 2 pm (brown bag lunch). CRQ Summer Retreat

The CRQ Summer Retreat is August 5 through August 7 at Hope United Methodist Church. Make sure you let Barb Zarzycki know if you are planning to participate: castawaynbs@gmail.com
FABRIC DYING CLASS
Melinda Sobraske is considering a fabric dying class as part of the Retreat, but will need at least 12 people to sign up for the class. The cost for the dyes and chemicals is $30 per person. Participants will have to supply their own 12 pre-washed fat quarters.
They will also need a set of plastic measuring cups and a wooden spoon. Melinda will need to know by July 12 if you are interested so she can order supplies to be delivered in time. Please contact Melinda directly at sobraskem@gmail.com.
Also, if anyone would like to teach a new technique during the retreat, let Barb know and she will get you on the schedule.
