DAISY & BEE Awards
The DAISY Award

The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses ® is an internationally recognized accolade supported by the DAISY Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to acknowledging the exceptional and compassionate care that nurses provide to patients and their families on a daily basis.
The DAISY Foundation was founded in memory of J. Patrick Barnes by his family members. In 1999, Patrick tragically passed away at the young age of 33 due to complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a relatively unknown but not uncommon autoimmune disease. The acronym DAISY stands for “Diseases Attacking the Immune System.” The remarkable care provided by nurses during Patrick’s illness served as the inspiration for these unique awards, designed to express gratitude to nurses who leave a profound impact on the lives of patients and their families.
The BEE Award

In acknowledgment of the vital collaboration between nurses and other healthcare professionals on a daily basis, we proudly recognize dedicated support staff through the esteemed BEE Award.
The BEE Award is an honor bestowed upon individuals crucial role in patient care. This includes professionals such as transporters, visual observation staff, unit secretaries, housekeepers, patient care techs, food and nutrition, and other essential team members.
